Abstract

286,458. Crossley, H. J. March 9, 1927. Staging. - Relates to a collapsable framework for use in making tables, stagings. &c., and of the kind comprising links arranged parallel-ruler fashion on either side of vertical central members, inclined members being provided having their inner ends sliding on the central members while their outer ends are pivoted to the outer vertical members of the frame, and consists in the provision of a sleeve 4 which surrounds a guide 3 attached to the central member 1 and is provided with lugs 13 to which the inclined members 2 are pivoted; the guide may slide on the member 1. By these means, the members 2 and central member 1 can be arranged in the same plane. As shown, the framework is employed in the construction of a table with a lower tray 11, folding leaves being pivoted to the rails 9. The framework, with the central members 1 extended and connected to the outer members 14 by a number of sets of links 2 and 6, can be used as a staging. By making the members 1 of double formation with the guide 3 between them, additional attachments can be made to either side of the members 1.
