Abstract

278,136. Giusti, T. Aug. 10, 1926. Pedestal and like stands.-The base of a stand for hair-curling machines or scientific instruments is provided at the outer end of each leg 3 with a detachable weight 6 carried by a vertical spindle 7 and having lug 8 carrying horizontal spindles 10 with castors 9. The legs 3 slope downwardly towards the centre. A device 11 for locking or xeleasing the tube 1, which is slidable in the base-tube 2, consists of a spring-pressed pin 12, Fig. 4, with a concave recess 13. The pin is operated by means of a knurled wheel 15 the rim of which presses against a bracket 16 and overcomes the pressure of the spring 14 when the wheel is turned.
