Steering - mechanism.-A vibrationdamper, more par. ticularly for the steering - mechanism of motor cycles &c., comprises an inverted cup - shaped member a secured, for example, to the lower end of the steering-stem b, a fibrous or like friction disc c, and a spring-pressed closure disc d, which has its outer face flush with the edge of the cup member a and is formed with a radiallyprojecting arm d<1> adapted to be fixed to. a plate f carried by the frame g of the cycle, the. arm d<1> being cranked or channelled at d<2> to clear the edge of the member a. The arm d<1> may be of channel section to receive the plate f, and is secured thereto by one or more bolts f<1> engaging a slot d<3> in the arm. The disc d and arm d<1> may be stamped from a sheet-metal blank.
