Abstract

265,026. Barclay, S. F., and Mather & Platt, Ltd. March 18, 1926. Drying fabrics in long lengths.-The fabric is conveyed by a stationary machine through a chamber a through which the vapour derived from the moisture in the material and superheated in heaters d, e is circulated by fans. The fans communicate with mains having nozzles h which direct the vapour on to the fabric. An adjustable outlet n is provided in the chamber so as to prevent the pressure exceeding that of the atmosphere. A condenser may be associated with the inlet to each fan. The steam-valves to the' heater may be automatically controlled by thermostats. In a modification, only a single fan and heater are employed.
