257,507. Castelnau, R. March 4, 1926. Anti-dazzle screens. - A lightabsorbing system for diminishing the glare from approaching light has increasing absorbing power from the centre to its periphery. As shown, a plano-convex lens N of non-absorbent glass is combined with a plano-concave lens A of absorbent glass. The refractive indices of the glasses may be the same or different, and the central portion of the lens system may be perfectly clear. The device may comprise a single plane sheet of glass, celluloid, &c., having gradually increasing absorbing power, and may be mounted in goggles or in any convenient way between the light and the person affected.
