Abstract

245,336. Weisz, H. May 13, 1925. Colour filters. - For the purpose of ensuring that the glass plates for composite light filters can be combined into correct filters the quantity of colouring components added to the liquid glass in the process of manufacture is such that with a thickness of glass of 2 mm., the shade of colour agress with that of a layer of glass of a normal filter. This enables such glasses to be ground to a thickness of 2 mm., a thickness which renders negligible the influence of grinding inaccuracies on the correctness of the filter. In making a composite filter from such glasses ground in the usual manner they are combined so that a layer of glass below the correct thickness is combined with a layer of glass above the correct thickness. Coloured gelatine filters may be placed between two coloured glasses made as above.
