Abstract

239,304. Bacon, W., and I.P.M. Syndicate, Ltd. June 14, 1924. Pulp, preparation of. - Fibrous cellulose is bydrated by chemical means, preferably by the process described in Specification 126,174, and then, after neutralizing or washing to remove alkali and carbon bisulphide, subjected to beating in any form of Hollander or beater. The mechanical beating may be continued until the fibre passes to the " gel " condition, and may be stopped at any intermediate stage according to the product desired. Specification 16085/12 also is referred to.
