Abstract

236,815. Mase, A. O., and Corsini, P. O. Dec. 13, 1924. Mixing and churning apparatus. - Apparatus for making butter from milk or cream by the combined action of centrifugal force and air currents, has a hollow spindle 4 with an agitating device 5 and with one or more vanes 6 to collect air which is forced down the spindle into the milk or cream. The vanes may be integral with the spindle and are bent forward in the direction of rotation. The spindle may be operated through a friction disc 12 held in engagement with a collar 11 by a spring 13. The gear is supported on a column 3 and clamped by a fly-nut 16.
