Abstract
222,903. Meurer, N. May 4, 1923. Blowpipe dc. burners.-In a spraying apparatus in which elongated fusible material is fed thereto and fired by means of' an ignited gas mixture, and having a space for the formation of flame in the interior of the nozzle, system, a mixing chamber for the combustible gas and oxygen is formed in the front of the nozzle head near the space where the flame is formed. The head e which carries a central nozzle through which the fusible material is led, is provided with three stepped threads on which are mounted three coaxial nozzle bodies a, b, i, the inner nozzle a extending through the nozzle d and a short way into the nozzle h. Oxygen is fed to the inner body d, through ports b, w<1> and escapes through fine holes d<1> into a space c where it mixes with combustible gas fed through ports t, u<1> and a flame is formed in the space b<1> immediately in front of the nozzle a. Atomizing gas such as air is fed through ports S to the space g in the outer nozzle i and escapes through grooves b<2> into the space j<1> formed in the adjustable nozzle part j.
