Abstract

A road vehicle courtesy display with an interchangeable message facility may be an additional brake light that, when illuminated rather than just showing a red light, will show clearly the word 'braking' which will act as a readable visible warning to drivers or persons travelling in close proximity behind the vehicle displaying the warning that the driver intends to slow down or stop the vehicle. <IMAGE>

Description

COURTESY DISPLAY WITH INTERCHANGEABLE MESSAGE FACILITY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND USE Additional brake light with message instead of just a light, in various sizes for different vehicles.
Design: Metal light box with brake light bulbs set behind a screen with the wording "BRAKING" cut from suitable material (designed for perspex RTM) with red perspex screen set in front so when driver brakes the light bulbs illuminate the sign and the drivers behind, read the sign and brake accordingly.
Purpose: to give visual readout instead of just a red light.
Aim: to reduce rear end shunts-by telling drivers of one's intention to stop therefore helping towards road safety.

Claims (9)

1. A lighting assembly comprising of a light box to be affixed to a vehicle to provide greater awareness of a goods vehicle's intention to slow or stop.
2. A lightbox that has five bulbs for illumination to allow for maximum light output.
3. A light box that has two screens.
4. A light box, the first screen being a red prismatic reflector.
5. A light box, the second screen being a black screen with the required message silk screen printed on to the second screen.
The second screen being the "interchangeable message facility".
6. A light box that is mounted centrally onto the rear end of primarily goods vehicles.
