Abstract

The ingredients of the pellet may be of any suitable kind and may comprise of one part wheat gluten, one part whey powder and two parts milk powder. These materials can be dried and granulated for suitable tablet pressing. It will be appreciated that some ingredients may be of granule form in their raw state, thus being immediately available for pressing, by means of a tablet press. With the constituents exampled above the compressed form once steamed does not break apart, but welds within to form a self supporting angling pellet. It is to be appreciated that the pellet being formed by the use of a tablet press allows for the production of large round pellets, that by steaming give the angler the shape and slow break down due to water repelling materials within the pellet.

Description

PELLI,'T FIIING BAIT This invention relates to fishing bait for use in angling. Norse particulary to baits used for carp fishing, for which an individual self supporting round mass of vegetable and or animal material is required.
In recent years anglers have obtained fish farming feed pellets for use in angling baits. The disadvantage here is that because these pellets are designed for fish farming they break dozen very rapidly in water and quickly render themselves inadequate as a self supporting fish bait.
Another disadvantage of commercially available fish feed pellets is that their size and shape are not suited to the majority of anglers needs for a large round shape to he projected by throwing stick;, or catapulted tens of yards for ground baiting purposes.
According to one aspect of the present invention, a pellet for use in angling, comprises of a mixture of dry granulated or powered vegetable and or animal ingredients, including at least one ingredient having water repelling properties. The dry powders being compressed into the desired form by use of a tablet press. The above form to be steamed, to produce a self supporting fishing pellet.
In accordance with another aspect of the invention. There is provided a method of producing a pellet for use in angling comprising the steps of drying and producing powders or granules of vegetable and or animal ingredients, including one water repelling ingredient, mixing the powered ingredients together and pressing a form by use of a tablet press to be steamed, to provide a self supporting fishing bait.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims
Claim 1 A bait for use in angling comprising a mixture of dry granulated of powered ingredients at least one of which has water repelling properties.
The bait being compressed into tablet form such that upon being steamed forms a self supporting fisiing pellet.
Claim 2 A method of producing a bait for use in angling comprising drying and producing powders or granules of a plurality of ingredients, including one ingredient being water repellent, mixing the said ingredients, pressing the mixture of ingredients to form a tablet alid subsequently steaming t'Lle tablet such tiat it welds within to form a self supporting angling pellet.
Claim 3 A bait according to claim one wherein tie ingredients include wheat gluten.
