Compound or composite blocks; flooring blocks.-A flooring block comprises an upper part formed of one or more relatively thick blocks 1, 2 of wood and a base 3 of fibrocement, the upper and lower parts being secured together by means of an adhesive cement 4 and, if necessary, by nails, screws or dowel-pins. The wood blocks, which are arranged so as to present an end-grain upper surface, are secured together, preferably, by glueing.
