457,177. Wood flooring and paving blocks. MURRAY, D., West Leys, Swanland, East Yorkshire. July 29, 1936, No. 20972. [Class 87 (i)] A metal-bound composite wood paving or flooring block comprises a plurality of small pieces of wood a, held together by bonding rods b accommodated in grooves d, and bonding rods c accommodated in holes e drilled in the pieces of wood in a direction at right angles to the grooves. The rods c secure the rods b in position in the grooves. The pieces a are preferably arranged so that the grain of the wood is directed towards the wearing surface of the block.
