Abstract

A door securing mechanism has at least one and preferably two, three or more bolts 8,9,10 each formed with teeth which co-operate with corresponding teeth on a door spindle 6 in a rack and pinion arrangement so that rotation of the spindle simultaneously drives the or each of the bolts into its closed position. The mechanism is of particular use for the door of a shelter for electronic equipment which door has a number of seals 20 requiring considerable force to compress them when the door is closed; cooperating cam faces at the ends of the bolts, eg 10B Fig. 5, and on keepers 17A transmit the compression force. <IMAGE>
