Abstract

1,065,319. Pressure-resisting doors. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Feb. 10, 1965 [Feb. 10, 1964], No. 5801/65. Heading F2P. [Also in Division E2] A sealable door includes a plurality of bolts or rods 17 regularly spaced around the perimeter of the door and movable parallel thereto, the bolts passing into notches provided in a fixed frame 4 and having an inclined plane causing, during the engagement of the bolts, the displacement of the door perpendicular to the plane thereof in order to tighten up a sealed joint between the door and the frame. A spindle 7, which may be mechanically or hydraulically operated, is coupled by chains 10, 12, 13 to the bolts 17, the latter being pulled inwardly against the pressure of springs 15 upon rotation of the spindle. The ends of the bolts are provided with castors 19 adapted to slide on the inclined planes of the notches.
