Abstract

Improvements to furs' sewing machines which help to prevent wear of the machine's accessories and to increase its speed of operation. These improvements include a device for the continuous and automatic lubrication of the machine, an improvement of the crankshaft's standing and its positioning on roller-bearings which result in the machine's being able to withstand high rotary speeds, and a device for the adjustment of the machine's rotary speed which also protects the machine's cover against leakage of oil and also brings the machine closer to the operator. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Improvement of furs' sewing machines, with re- gard to the automatic lubrication, the operating speed and the stitchings' adjustment.
1. Condensed description of the invention The invention relates to improvements on furs' sewing machines, particularly to a device for the automatic lubrication of the machine, to the improvement of the crank-shaft's standing and its positioning on roller-bearings, in order to render possible the increase of the machine's speed, as well as, to the mechanism (device) for the adjustment of the stitch's pitch.
The invention's object is to prevent the wear of the machine's accessories and to increase its speed of operation. The device for the adjustment of the stitch aims to the protection of the machine's cover against leakage of the lub - oil, as well as to bring the machine closer to the operator.
The current technique makes furs' sewing machines reach a rotary speed in the order of 1700 rounds per minute. But, because the owner or the craftsman desires a higher speed entailing a higher furs' sewing productivity: they fit a high-speed driving motor on the existing machines and consequently suffer damages on the connecting-rod's and the crankshaft's bearings, as well as on its internal accessories as they are not lubricated for high speeds.
The conceived improvements consist in the use of roller-bearings o the crankshaft and in the continuous and automatic lubrication of the entire mechanism of the machine's accessories, so that they can withstand high rotary speeds.
II. Glossary of terms The invention can be applied practically in several ways. One quite indicative application of the conception is shown in the drawings attached to the description of this invention, where, in Figure 1 is shown a cross-section of a vertical side of the machine.
Figure 2 shows another cross-section where the lubricating tubing of the machine's accessories are distinguishable.
The main components and accessories of the conception of the described indicative example, are described hereunder in enumeration respective to the enumeration in the drawings attached to the description, where they are shown in an indicative and descriptive illustration.
1. Housing of the machine. It contains the var ious supports where the various accessories are assembled and fitted. Its external form is designed in connection with the improvement foreseen in the present conception, so that the assembling of the said accessories is possible for the operation of the machine.
2. Wheel with an external handle on the circumference for manual rotation.
3. Crankshaft reinforced for resistance to high speeds. It is properly formed for retrograde and rotary motion of the machine's various accessories, through gears.
4. Lub -oil sump tight against lub -oil leakage.
5. Lub -oil pump for the oil flow through the oil tubing 7 and 8. The oil is taken from the sump 13 by the pump.
6. Shaft driven by the crankshaft 3 for the drive of pump 5.
7. Small tubes starting from the pump 5 to the points 8 for the continuous lubrication of the machine.
8. Lubrication nozzles for the injection of the oil at the lubrication points.
9. Rotary stud (button) for the adjustment of the gear's size. Has a toothed shaft 15 entering the cover's space for pushing stem 10, that regulates through rotation the speed of the discs 16 moving the leather to be sewn.
10. Stem moving up and down through rotation 15 for the regulation (adjustment) of the discs 16.
11. Safety for the stem's fixing to position after the adjustment.
12. Retrograding mechanism that adjusts the discs' 16 rotation through cam-bearing disc.
13. Special configuration of cover 1 for the housing of roller-bearing 14.
14. Roller-bearings supporting the high-speed crankshaft.
15. Toothed shaft at the end of the button's stem 9 for the upwards and downwards motion of stem 10.
16. Rotary discs that embrace between them the two leathers to be sewn. Their rotary speed is adjusted by the mechanism 12.
17. Oil level indicators. Lub-oil is taken from pump 5 through tubing 18 goes to the transparent indicator. If no oil shows in the indicator during the machine's operation, this means that the pump does not function.
The machine's operation consists of the passage of the leather to be sewn through the discs 16. The discs move at the speed adjusted through button 9 and the stitch's length increases or decreases according to the disc's rotary speeds. The button 9 is placed at the top of the housing 1 for easy control by the operator and in order to prevent oil leakage through its hole. The lubrication of the various under fricfion and rotating accessories, is automatic and continuous with the crankshaft's 3 start of rotation. If, for some form and reason pump 5 does not function, oil does not flow through the indicator 17 and the operator stops the machine for the checking of the pump's 3 functioning.
1. A lubricating device for fur's sewing machines which is characterised by the inclusion of an oil-pump. The oil-pump works with the help of a shaft which is driven by the machine's crankshaft. The crankshaft, through a pipeline, guides the oil (which is located at the bottom of the machine - (crankcase) ), to the different friction points of the machine; these friction points need continuous lubrication so as they don't ignite and wear out when the machine is working at high rotary
