Abstract

A sitting device comprising a seat (2), possibly also a back support (5), said sitting device being intended to be used either for a conventional sitting posture or a kneeling-like sitting posture. The device provides the possibility of a kneeling-like sitting posture in that the seat (2) is dividable into two or three parts (4, 3; 13, 11, 12; 16, 17, 18) in such a manner that there is established two mutually shiftable units, said units being so arranged that they can be brought to lie at mutually different levels, the first one of said units (4; 13; 16) thereby serving to support the posterior of the user, and the second unit (3; 11, 12; 17, 18) being at a lower level, serving to support one or both of the user's shins. The said first and second unit may be telescopically or slidably interconnected and the second unit in its lower position normally assumes an angle to the plane of the first unit.
