Abstract

A brassière with a front part which comprises two brassière cups and which is connected on both sides to respectively one rear part half comprising fastening parts and on which the lower edges of the brassière cups are sewn to a brassière tape which extends in the circumferential direction of the body and which is preferably elastic. The brassière tape (20) consists of two tape parts (20a, 20b) which are arranged at an obtuse angle to each other and are connected together in the central area of the front part. In this manner, even when the brassière is of a low-cut design, it is ensured that it fits well and is comfortable to wear. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Brassire The innovation relates to a brassire with a front part which comprises two brassire cups and which is connected on both sides-to respectively one rear part half comprising fastening parts and on which the lower edges of the cups are sewn to a tape which extends in the circumferential direction of the body and which is preferably elastic.
On the hitherto known brassires of the kind described above, the brassire tape consists of a single continuous straight tape which extends from the outer side of one brassire cup to the outer side of the other brassire cup, the upper edge of the tape being sewn together with the lower edges of the brassire cups.
This straight design of the brassire tape has the disadvantage that when the brassire is worn, this tape curls up inwardly, causing the supporting effect of the brassire to be impaired in that the lower edge of the brassire cups slips over the bosom.
Furthermore, it is uncomfortable to wear such a brassire with a tape that has curled up since the tape does not lie flat on the skin but cuts thereinto.
In order to improve the properties of wear, stays have been sewn in the lower edges of the brassire cups on low-cut brassires of this kind.
Since these stays tend to be pressed into the skin, many women do not like to wear brassires of this kind.
The task underlying the innovation is to avoid these disadvantages on a brassire and to design the latter in such a way that, even when it is of a low-cut design, it is ensured that it fits well and is comfortable to wear.
According to the innovation, this task is solved in that the brassire tape consists of two tape parts which are arranged at an obtuse angle to each other and are connected together in the central area of the front part. It has been shown that the obtuse-angled arrangement and the twopart design of the brassire tape caused thereby ensures a good support of the brassire cups and prevents them from riding upwards.
An exemplified embodiment of the brassire according to the innovation is shown in the drawing in a diagrammatical representation. It shows a low-cut brassire on which the brassire cups 12 and 14 are not joined until they reach the brassire tape, which is designated 20 as a whole, and are only in contact with each other in the centre. The brassire cups are adjoined by the usual side parts 1 8 which are provided with a back fastening. Shoulder straps 1 6 are furthermore sewn onto the brassire cups.
Associated with the brassire cups 12 and 14 are brassire tapes 20a and 20b, the upper edge of which is sewn together with the lower edge of the respective brassire cup. The inner tape part ends have an oblique cut so as to bring about an obtuse-angled arrangement, which results in a lozenge-shaped overlapping area 22 in the central area. The upper point of this lozenge-shaped area coincides with the point of contact of the two brassire cups 12 and 14.
The brassire tapes 20a and 20b are elastic in the longitudinal direction so that, due to their angular association with each other in the overlapping area 22, no tension, and thus no slipping, occurs. Instead of a smooth brassire tape, it is possible to use a ribbon made in an elastic material, for example lace.
The described arrangement of the brassire tape 20 is not confined to brassires which, as in the illustration, have a low cut. The advantage set forth are also provided to the same extent on brassires on which the brassire cups are already joined in the upper area in the front part centre.
As another advantage of the described innovation, there must furthermore be mentioned the fact that, due to the obtuse-angled arrangement of the brassire tape 20, the pressure-sensitive stomach zone is left free.
1. A brassière with a front part which comprises two brassire cups and which is connected on both sides to respectively one rear part half comprising fastening parts and on which the lower edges of the brassire cups are sewn to a brassie'run tape which extends in the circumferential direction of the body and which is preferably elastic, characterised in that the brassire tape consists of two tape parts which are arranged at an obtuse angle to each other and are connected together in the central area of the front part.
2. A brassire as claimed in Claim 1, wherein respectively one tape part extends below respectively one brassire cup one end of the tape part being connected to the rear part half and the other end being connected to the inner lower edge of the adjacent brassire cup.
3. A brassire as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the inner tape part ends are crossed in a lozenge-shaped overlapping area, the upper point of the lozenge-shaped area coinciding with the point of contact of the two brassire cups.
4. A brassire as claimed in one of the preceding Claims, wherein the inner tape part ends have an obiique cut.
5. A brassire as claimed in one of the preceding Ciaims, wherein the edge parts are elastic in their longitudinal direction.
6. A brassire substantially as described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
