Abstract
203,186. Davies, J. May 26, 1923. Operating doors by movement of interconnected door; starting opening of doors.-In overhead rail transport systems passing from one chamber to another such as those used in cold storage chambers, the auxiliary door 1 closing the aperture above the main door 4, through which the detachable section of rail is adapted to be placed, is interconnected with the main door by a link 5 engaging in a bracket 6 on the door 4 and in slots 8 in a bracket 9 fixed to the door 1. The slots allow of lost motion between the parts so that an oblique pull is obtained to start the opening of the door 1; this initial opening may, however, be accomplished by having a projection 10 on the door 4 fitting behind the door 1 when closed. To disconnect the mechanism, the link 5 is engaged by rollers 17 on a bar 15 sliding in a guide 16 and operated by a pivoted handle 11 to lift the link out of the bracket 6.
