Abstract

A selvedge knitting needle N is reciprocated by a crank 26 and is guided by a guide 18 pivoted at the fell F-G so that, although the needle N moves through a curved path to engage the weft loops and/or a selvedge thread, the path coincides with the fell at beat-up to ensure firm selvedge. <IMAGE>
