Abstract

The invention relates to a device for shuttleless looms for inserting the cut weft-thread ends along the selvedge. The transfer and insertion of the end of a shot-in weft thread (12), held in the closed shed, into the open shed take place by means of a pivotably mounted needle (13), the weft-thread end (12b) being held, until it is grasped by the needle (13), by a controllable thread clamp (16). As a result of the arrangement of a controllable press foot (21) next to the thread clamp (16) for pressing the weft-thread end portion (12b) down into the pivoting path of the needle and by controlling the press foot (21) in a straight line, the operating reliability of the insertion device is guaranteed, even at an increased working speed.
