Abstract

A gas fire or gas space-heater (1) comprises a housing (2) containing a heat exchange element (3), a gas burner (4) located in the heat exchange element (3), an air supply duct (13) for supplying air for combustion to the element (3), a flue ion gas duct (6) and a blower (15) for the forced guidance of gas through the element (3). Control means are provided for switching the gas burner on and off in order to regulate the heating capacity of the gas fire or gas space-heater and means are provided for disconnecting and connecting the blower according to whether the burner is off or on. The heat exchange element (3) is made from cast iron or cast aluminium. <IMAGE>
