Abstract

A combustion furnace 1 for waste on board ship is associated with an auxiliary boiler 16 on the ship. The combustion furnace 1 and the boiler 16 are fired independently. The flue gas outlet 18 of the combustion furnace 1 opens into the flue gas duct of the auxiliary boiler 16 so that the waste heat from the furnace 1 is used as power for the auxiliary boiler 16.
