Abstract

Bags of garbage are delivered to an incinerator (22) from one or more series of bins (30, 32, 34) into which they are fed manually, by rams (80, 82, 84) which successively raise platforms (74, 76, 78) constituting the floors of the bins, the bins (30, 32, 34) being disposed in a cascade arrangement so that the material is progressively delivered to a discharge conveyor (28) by the sequential operation of the respective rams (80, 82, 84). The conveyor (28) delivers the bags to a feeder (23) incorporating a ram (64) supplying them to the incinerator (22). A second series of bins (36, 38, 40) is preferably disposed on the opposite side of the conveyor (28) from the bins (30, 32, 34).
