Abstract

1,174,228. Incinerator refuse. VON ROLL A.G. 18 Oct., 1968 [28 Nov., 1967], No. 49660/68. Heading B8S. Refuse is fed to rotary kiln 11 for incineration in two ways. Solid refuse is conveyed thereto by grab 12 and dropped into hopper 9 which feeds to the kiln. Refuse in the form of a sludge in a container is dropped therefrom into hopper 1 either by the containers being elevated by elevator 8 or by means of grab 12. The material falls on to rotating disc 5 which rotates at the bottom of hopper 1 and feeds the material to screw conveyer 7, which is positioned an adjustable distance above disc 5 and which feeds the material out of the hopper into the kiln 11. The single screw conveyer may be replaced by parallel twin screw conveyers.
