Abstract

Fuel injection and control means for air-compressing self-igniting internal-combustion engines comprise a camshaft (1) disposed adjacent to the cylinder heads, a plurality of fuel injection assemblies (4), which are associated with respective cylinders and driven by the camshaft (1) and consist each of a fuel injection pump and a fuel injection nozzle, a governor (11) mounted on the camshaft, and a control linkage (12), which is operable by said governor (11) and by a driver-operable pedal and has a control rod coupled to each fuel injection assembly. To permit of a decrease of the overall length of the internal-combustion engine in the direction of the camshaft (1) so that the engine can be more easily accommodated in a vehicle, the governor is mounted in a pot-shaped drive wheel mounted on the camshaft (1). <IMAGE>
