Abstract

In a tab inserter in which a strip (1) of tabbing material which has been coated on one side with an adhesive and is protected by a removable strip (2) of siliconised paper, is advanced along a guideway (C) by an intermittently operated feed device (5) and cut into tabs, after removal of the strip (2), by a knife (F) operable automatically following each operation of the feed device, removal of the protective strip (2) and advancement of the tabbing strip (1) are both effected by the feed device (5) which is arranged to act directly on the protective strip (1) at a point displaced from the guideway (C) and indirectly on the tabbing strip (1) through the protective strip (2). <IMAGE>
