Abstract

Sprinkling apparatus comprising a sprinkler plate 1 rotatable about an approximately vertical axis 12 having a stationary circumferential guard 6 to limit the discharge of material from a portion of the circumference of the plate, a supply shaft 8 for a solid material arranged so as to discharge the material through a solid material discharge opening 11 onto the central portion of the upper side of the plate, and a supply conduit 14 for a liquid arranged so as to supply the liquid through a liquid discharge opening 10 onto the central portion of the upper side of the plate, wherein the liquid discharge opening and the solid material discharge opening are positioned over the section of the plate bounded by the guard. The apparatus may be carried on a motor vehicle and used for spreading grit and the like on road surfaces. <IMAGE>
