Abstract

A dry gas meter has a pair of slide valves 26, 27 driven by respective rotating cylindrical guides 20, 20'. Each guide has a single continuous ridge 30, 30' for instance following a helical path, which is engaged by a notched end 31, 31' on the valve. The guide is rotated through a drive system from the flexible diaphragms (not shown) working in gas chambers. As the guide rotates the valve is moved back and forth according to the configuration on the ridge. The ridges may be replaced by grooves into which a portion of the valves extend. <IMAGE>
