Abstract

A spring applied brake actuator has a piston 22 loaded by a spring 23 located in a breather chamber 24, the chamber 24 being vented to the atmosphere by way of a conduit 28' and a filter (36) in order to protect the breather chamber from dirt, dust and spray water. The conduit 28' remote from the chamber 24 fits into a bore (33) in a support flange 2' of the actuator and retains the filter (36) in the bore (33). <IMAGE>
