Abstract

The cant-free guidance of the ram of presses of standing mode of construction for the bundling of old papers, cardboard or like waste is attained by guide roller pairs (12, 12'), which bear internally and externally against the walls (2a) of the press chamber 2. The ram 3 is moved by piston and cylinder units (6, 5) connected thereto by straps (9) which pass through slots (11) in the walls (2a). The rollers bearing on the outer surfaces of the walls (2a) are mounted on plates (13) attached to the straps (9) and those bearing on the inner surfaces of the walls (2a) are mounted on plates (14) attached to the straps (9). <IMAGE>
