Abstract

A yarn storage and feeding device for feeding weft yarn to a shuttle loading mechanism of a travelling wave-shedding loom comprises a rotatable carrier having a base 10, support frame elements 13 mounted on the base 10, supports 22 for yarn package spindles, a yarn distributor and guide 14 mounted on the carrier at the end opposite to the base 10 and an oppositely rotating feeder 27 on the loom which supplies the yarns 26 to the shuttle loading device without entanglement between the carrier and feeder 27. The yarn package spindles are so mounted on their supports 22 that the packages 24 have their centres of gravity located at or near the longitudinal axis of the carrier and are positioned such that yarn can be drawn off the packages over end. <IMAGE>
