Abstract
A weaving loom comprises carriages 7 carrying weft bobbins 11. The carriages 7 are circulated round a closed path which includes a weaving zone through which the bobbins 11 are driven to insert weft threads. When the yarn supply of a bobbin 7 is exhausted, that bobbin is automatically replaced by a fully- loaded bobbin. A sensor 12 produces a signal when it is passed by a carriage 7a bearing an empty, or nearly empty bobbin. This signal causes the empty bobbin to be ejected. After a delay which gives the empty carriage enough time to pass round the path to a region m-m, a distributor 19 transfers a fully-loaded bobbin from a creel 15 to the empty carriage 7. There is provision for the grasping of thread ends of the yarns of the bobbin while they are in the creel 15 and during transfer by the distributor 19, so as to avoid tangling. <IMAGE>
