Abstract

An anti-flood barrage for estuaries or tidal rivers, comprises a flexible watertight curtain 14 which extends across a river, is adapted to be raised or lowered by means of an inflatable boom 12, and is guyed at intervals along its length by cables 26, 32 attached to the bed of the river downstream of the curtain. <IMAGE>
