Abstract

A clamping and sealing device is provided which has two sections, namely a clamping section in the form of an interrupted ring member 4 to clamp a slotted part of a flared female portion of a pipe 1 to a male portion of a pipe 2, and a sealing section. The sealing section is in the form of a narrow-slotted ring member 8 to clamp around a non slotted part of the pipe 1 to seal it to the pipe 2 by applying a greater pressure than the clamping section. <IMAGE>
