Abstract

882,038. Clamps. OHLSON, E. April 13, 1960, No. 13181/60. Class 44. A clamp of the kind produced by bending transversely a sheet metal blank formed with identical circular apertures 1 which are interconnected by a slot 3 and in the bent condition of the blank are parallel and aligned is characterized in that in the unbent condition of the blank the ends of the slot are situated on either side respectively of an imaginary straight line AA connecting the centres of the apertures. The slot edges 4 are S-shaped such that when clamped around a pipe &c. by a nut and bolt assembly 7, 8, Fig. 2 the edges are drawn together the apertures 1 fully embracing the pipe. In a modified clamp the apertures 1 are formed with edge flanges 9, Fig. 6 to provide a larger pipe embracing surface.
