Abstract

A domestic boiler provided with a burner 19 and means 22 for automatically controlling the boiler in accordance with temperature, and a shut-off valve 23 in a flue conduit 14 through which combustion gases flow, for closing that flue conduit when the boiler is not in use, the valve 23 comprising a spherical light weight body 25 which can be lifted off its seat 26 by the combustion gases flowing past it, the valve 23 being intended to limit the outflow of hot gas when the boiler is not in use, thus minimising heat loss therefrom. <IMAGE>
