Abstract
201,322. Anthony, W. H. May 27, 1922. Actuated by relaxation of pull or push.-In brakes for railway trucks &c. of the kind which are automatically applied when there is neither a pull on the draw-bar 1 nor pressure upon the buffers 17, the draw-bar 1 is connected by a rod 3 to a lever 5 on the brake shaft 6. When the pull on the draw-bar 1 ceases, a blede spring 2 forces the rod 3 and lever 5 to the left, thus applying the brakes 9. The draw-bar 1<a> operates similarly through a double lever 12 and rod 13. The buffers 17, 17<a> act upon a lever 14 similar to the lever 5. The brakes can be released by a handlever at the side of the truck &c. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4972/82, 9239/89, 9833/95, and 12838/05.
