Abstract

A vehicle seat which is provided with a support member adjustably mounted thereto. The support member (52,) has at least one stay (50,) reciprocally received in a tubular member (48) fixedly mounted to a shaft (44,) so that the support member may be moved manually toward and away from the shaft (44,). The shaft is connected to a knob (88) through an adjusting device in the form of an eccentric gearing system (36) which permits rotation of the shaft (44,) only by rotation of the knob (88) and which functions as both gearing and a lock. The support member may be a head rest (52) or a femoral support. <IMAGE>
