Abstract
Relative rotation of a cam 48 causes it to move axially relative to the remainder of the piston assembly in order to vary the cross-sectional area of a rebound leak path (58,60,62) provided across the piston. The axial displacement of the cam member 48 may if desired be additionally used to vary the biasing force of a spring 44 acting on valve element 40. To adjust the damping, the cam 48 is locked to the cylinder and the piston rod is rotated, causing lugs 50 on the piston nut 26 to engage a different pair of surfaces on the cam 48. <IMAGE>
