Abstract
The invention relates to a fixed echo canceller for radar systems comprising one normal channel and one controlling channel. The controlling channel includes at least a logarithmic amplifier (12) and a calculating circuit (13) which measures the mean amplitude of the clutter echo signals over a range and bearing cell and then over one or more antenna revolutions. This latter mean value for the amplitude of the video signals is used to control the gain of the linear amplifier (9) in the normal channel of the arrangement, which includes a demodulator 10 and a filtering circuit 11 which suppresses the fixed echoes. <IMAGE>
