Abstract

A plastics hub (4) has a bore for receiving a shaft as a push fit. In order to provide a driving engagement between the shaft and the hub, the hub carries at least one U-shaped metal reinforcement member (2, 3) which between its arms presents a space (23, 33) for receiving a drive pin projecting from a shaft when the latter is pushed into the bore. The hub may particularly be incorporated in plastics impellers of axial-flow fans, mounted on drive shafts of electric motors. <IMAGE>
