Abstract

The invention relates to devices for automatically turning the pages of a book, magazine or newspaper without the need for manipulation of the pages by hand, to enable e.g. disabled persons to read through a publication. The device comprises a suction or adhesive lifting head 7 for raising the page to be turned, and an arm 21 which rotates in a plane beneath the lifted page and over the centre line of the book, magazine or newspaper to turn the page, and a control mechanism for carrying out the lifting and turning procedures automatically in sequence. Puff or suck pneumatic control may be provided for initiating a turning sequence. <IMAGE>
