Abstract

This invention relates to a method and apparatus for plugging a hole in a pipe or vessel 11. The apparatus comprises a resilient gasket 1 that can be forced against the sides of the holes by a specially shaped mandril 4 which is forced against the inside surface 2 of the gasket. It is possible that by using the specially shaped mandril and gasket the gasket and mandril can be removed from the pipe or vessel, under pressure, if there is a need to insert equipment into the pipe or vessel. <IMAGE>
