Abstract

A propeller driven motor boat is provided having a drive shaft (10) arranged at the stern of the boat and extending with a substantially vertical component, a propeller (11) mounted below the hull (12) and on a shaft (13) extending fore and aft with a substantially horizontal component, gearing (14) interconnecting the drive and propeller shafts (10, 13) for the transmission of power from the drive shaft (10) to the propeller shaft (13), the propeller (11) being mounted forward of the drive shaft (10) and gearing (14), and a guide vane (15) extending with a substantially vertical component and diametrically of the swept area of the propeller (11), the guide vane (15) being located aft of the propeller and providing a housing for the drive shaft (10). <IMAGE>
