Abstract

Realistic life-like movement of the mouth 28,30 and other parts of animated figures, toys, puppets etc. is achieved by replacing the conventional solenoid of the animation control mechanism by a coil (16) movable in a magnetic field. One thereby obtains a linear instead of a logarithmic response. The movement of the coil (16) is preferably in response to changes in the amplitude of the envelope of the volume component of a voice signal. An intercom system comprising two units each having a loudspeaker/microphone, a mouthpiece and a mouth control mechanism can be wired up so that voice signals can be transmitted from one unit to the other and vice versa with accompanying movement of the respective mouthpieces. <IMAGE>
