Abstract
A process for recovering water- soluble perrhenate from an aqueous solution containing it and optionally metals such as molybdenum and/or tungsten by treating the solution with a basic anion-exchange resin, extracting with hydrohalic acid, e.g. hydrochloric acid, at an elevated temperature, e.g. from 70 to 110 DEG C, the perrhenate adsorbed on the resin and precipitating a sparingly water- soluble perrhenate, e.g. potassium perrhenate, from the acid extract. The examples describe the treatment of a sodium aluminate solution containing perrhenate.
