Abstract

An analogue quartz crystal calendar watch is provided with automatic date adjustment at the end of a month having less than 31 days by arranging that a date wheel 7 sends a feed-back signal at the end of a month to an integrated circuit 2 which is programmed with calendar information. This calendar information is compared with the date indicated on the date wheel 7 and, if there is disagreement, the integrated circuit 2 supplies signals to stepping motor 3. The latter then undergoes, at least once, a successive reverse and forward drive at a speed substantially greater than its normal operating speed so that the time indicating hands 5 are adjusted a corresponding number of times through a predetermined time period during which calendar adjustment occurs, and the date wheel 7 is simultaneously adjusted to indicate the first day of the next month. For checking, the month may be indicated by an LED display visible through the notches in a day star wheel. <IMAGE>
