Abstract

An electric switch for a motor vehicle acoustic signal device comprises a contact support plate 1 mounted or adapted to be mounted on the steering wheel 18 of the vehicle and a disc shaped activator 2 which is held by the plate 1 so as to be movable as a whole towards and away from the contact support plate 1. A leaf spring 3 holds the activator disc 2 and contact support plate 1 apart and is provided with an earth connection. A strip-shaped metallic coacting contact 10 is inserted in a recess in the contact support plate 1 and that end of the coacting contact 10 which passes out on the face of the contact support plate 1 remoted from the contact activator 2 has terminals 11 for connection to a current carrying cable 12. An acoustic signal circuit is completed by moving the contact activator disc 2 against the action of the leaf spring 3 to engage the leaf spring 3 against the coacting contact 10. <IMAGE>
