Abstract

The rotor comprises a blade- carrying disc 15 having an annular flange 21 at or adjacent its periphery, the flange having an internal substantially axially extending annular periphery of the disc, each blade having a root projection 28 which has a substantially axially extending external face 29 adapted to engage with the internal annular face 22 of the disc 15 to taken centrifugal loads to the disc from the blade. Locking plates 31 are then provided to prevent the blades tilting in a plane normal to the disc. <IMAGE>
